A Trek through the Land Guarded By Dogs

Our slogan at Kurgo is ‘Go Together’, and that is exactly what our adventurous friends at Rough on the Road have been doing! Jessica, Greg and their 9-month-old German Shepherd, Moxie documented their hike in Guatemala along the San Pedro Volcano, also known as the “land guarded by dogs”. Located in Northern Guatemala, this nickname stems from when villagers used to grow corn and beans. As a way to protect their livelihood from the animals on top of the mountain, they would place dogs between the crops and the mountain to help guard the harvest. See the details of their excursion in the below documentary.
